Say goodbye to C.C…my letter to the big fella
Dear C.C.,
It’s been so nice getting to watch you pitch up close and personal for the last few months. 
You were dominating.
We traded the young stud pictured to the left (Matt LaPorta) to get you.
It was so worth it.
You pitched on 3 days rest so many times just to see the Milwaukee Brewers reach the promised land.
And we did it.
Milwaukee Brewers principal owner, Mark Attanasio made this trade happen. We appreciate him for doing that. 
He appreciated you, too.
So, when you’re wearing pinstripes next season, please remember the good times you had in Milwaukee.
We won’t forget about you.
You came, you saw and you conquered.
We’ll be watching you in the Bronx…good luck to you big fella.

Nick, that’s such a gracious post. Seriously. A fan who actually wishes a departing free agent well! It’s not a done deal that CC will be a Yankee, of course, but I think it’s cool that you’re paying tribute to what he did with the Brewers.

Oh, I just realized that I’ll have to write him a good-bye letter too. Oh man, how do you say good-bye to 16 years of history? I’ll work on that. Thanks again!

It’s amazing, actually, how he performed in 17 starts for the Brewers. I think he had 7 complete games…that’s unprecedented. Whatever money he makes this offseason (speaking solely in baseball dollar value and not the real world most of us live in!), he deserves it.
I bought my Sabathia jersey shirt when he came over knowing full well he most likely would not be a Brewer in ’09. I’m glad I did.

One positive of watching CC pitch the 2nd half in Milwaukee is knowing an entire team can be placed on the shoulders of one man. The question is “who will it be next year” rather than “where will he be next year”. I wish it wasnt that way, but you have to look on the bright side: anyone can step out of the shadows and carry us.
